Detroit Garage Rock at its finest(and one Canadian band)! This week's ep features from the Motor City, Vox Vera, the one and only, Detroit Perfect (yes, I'm biased), My new favorites, The Porcelain Doll Collection, Two legendary Detroit bands, the Trash Brats and the Paybacks, my good friends Lazerface, and the only act not from Detroit Rock City, Toronto's Plaid on Flannel !!
Since my last Hip Hop show did so well, I thought I'd start this ep with some of the usual suspects, King Ludy (be on the lookout for his new mix tape, Call it a Night, droppin' March 12), Robert Illo, Gda Starr, and up and comer, Chelsea Hensen. The other half of the show showcases some great artists from outside of the state, including out of Columbus, OH, Mic Skillz, from Raleigh, North Carolina, my boy J.Leon, and from the city of Angels, L.A., CA, by way of Music City USA Nashville TN, Thabz C!!
After two weeks of nothing but music from Detroit, I figured I'd mix it up a bit (of course there's still stuff reppin the "D", and I ain't talkin' about Dallas). From NYC, the hard rock of Circus Life, out of Hollywood by way of Sacramento Jason Shira's Born Promise, My man from Phoenix, Kashis Klayfield, Detroit's own, the bad ass Porcelain Doll Collection, from across the pond, hailing from Portugal, X-Kizit. Detroit bad boys not named Hamill, Lazerface, and from the hot ass desert that is Palm Springs, CA, Kimberly Roberts!!
I had the honor and privilege to attend a listener party for King Ludy's new mix tape, so it gave me the idea to do a show dedicated to some of the best hip hop Detroit has to offer. Besides the aforementioned King Ludy, we have Drez Mcflan, who was brought to my attention by one DJ G-Raw, Sheefy McFly, Genghis Ganj, Frostmatic, and Robert Illo and Gda Starr. Big ups to Bizarre and make sure to visit http://DetroitRap.com for all they do for the Detroit hip hop community.
Featuring the debut single of Detroit's Robert Illo and Gda Starr, together known as The Forcefield, the Detroit sleaze of Hazardhead, Toronto's rockin' Plaid on Flannel, two New York female singer/songwriters, from the Big Apple, Kayla O'Keefe and from upstate in Rochester, one Fiona Corinne, and my boy hailing form Colorado, the grooves of Gridlock!!
What up doe! Another show featuring some of the Motor City's finest. This week I've mixed it up a bit with the best of rock and hip hop. On the rock side of things we have JAKDD, Redfield Burning, the legendary Trash Brats, and Black Ghost Bandit. On the hip hop tip, we have King Ludy, Robert Illo, and Frostmatic. MC Sampler and I will be debuting our video for "I Need a Job (But I Don't Want One)", which you'll hear me plug on the show, only problem is the song didn't record. So, please like https://www.facebook.com/pages/I-Need-a-Job-But-I-Dont-Want-One/1409981875892493, where you can listen to the song and where the video will be debuting. Thanks. Peace out!!
When I attended IMS (http://goims.org) last year, we were given a lyric sheet written by DJ Corey D to see what we could come up with. Well, here's what I came up with (featuring Andy Gagnon and Santo Ludy). Music from Fiona Corrine, Johnny Roastbeef, King Ludy, and Detroit's legendary Trash Brats!!
In this shorter ep, we get a very much more laid back Bill. Due to performing the night before for the first time in a few years with the whole Halfway II band!! A special thanks to the New Way Bar, Maria Wade (you'll hear a Maria song, by the way), and The Sympathy Orchestra. TSO unfortunately don't have any recordings yet, but head on over to their site at http://www.thesympathyorchestra.com/ and check out some live footage. We have music from the aforementioned Maria Wade, Fires In Japan, Voice of Addiction, Amanda Cooksey, Mic Skillz, and of course Halfway II !!
